Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. This page lists every cookie this site uses and shows you how to turn off the ones that aren’t needed.

We don’t use advertising cookies, and nothing on this site follows you around other websites.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they are, so we can improve the site. We’ve set it up so Google only uses this information to give us our own statistics. It isn’t linked to Google Ads or used to show you adverts, and we can’t see who you are. We keep the figures for 14 months.
Why we don’t show a cookie pop-up
Since February 2026, UK law has allowed websites to use cookies that only count visits, without asking first. In return, the site has to explain them clearly and give you a simple, free way to turn them off. That’s what this page does.
Turn off analytics
Press the button and we’ll stop counting your visits on this device, and remove the Google Analytics cookies. To turn it back on, press it again. If you clear your cookies, you’ll need to press it again. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on.
Other things on the site
The maps in our area guides come from OpenStreetMap. Our review boxes come from Trustindex. They load content onto the page but we don’t use them to track you. Links to YouTube, Google or social media take you to their own sites, which have their own cookie policies.
