What documents do I need when applying for a tenancy?

You will have to provide proof of your identity, earnings and address with the likes of passport or drivers licence, payslips and a recent utility bill.

In the first instance, your identity and credit levels will be checked by a third party company UK Tenant Data for your security and peace of mind. You will need to then bring the same ID to us so that we can verify your details are the same.

When you sign for a lease, each person named on the lease will need to prove their ID. So, for two tenants sharing a flat, both will need to do so. For a family renting a house, the parents will need to do so. If you're unsure, the rule is generally each adult living in the property.

Most times, everybody who is named on the lease should come to sign the lease at the same time. If this is impossible to do, a written agreement to arrange the details of the signing will need to be made.

Assuming your property is ready to be rented it will take 1 - 2 weeks to secure a new tenancy. The highly popular areas such as city centre and west end tend to let very quickly, in most cases within 1 week.
